Robert Kelly Nace, Senior Design Engineer & Founder
Mr. Nace has over 18 years of experience designing Printed Circuit Boards, Integrated Circuits and Electronic Systems. Prior to CADKraft Engineering, Mr. Nace worked as an Applications Engineer for Quorum Systems (acquired by Spreadtrum Communications), where he successfully designed and tested cellular transceiver circuitry. He also recently worked in applications for Chipidea Semiconductors (acquired by MIPS), where he designed a Smartphone/PDA from concept to working PCB.
Over the years Mr. Nace has “taped out” more than 1000 PCB Designs including the following architectures: Bluetooth, Ultra-Wide Band (Wireless USB), GPS, Wi-Fi/Wi-Max, DVB-H, WCDMA, GSM, AMPS, VOIP, Power Management, Satellite Guided Missiles, Digital Controls, Animatronics, Inkjet printers, and Salinity/PH monitoring products. Earlier in his career, Mr. Nace contributed to many Timing-Driven System on Chip (SOC) Designs, including a .18um tapeout with 5.1 Million Transistors, two custom Analog Blocks and 19 Compiled RAM/ROM Blocks.
Mr. Nace received his BS degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering from Purdue University of West Lafayette, Indiana, and also received an Associate’s degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from ITT Technical Institute in Evansville, Indiana. Mr. Nace is the current Vice President and Secretary of the San Diego Chapter of the IPC Designers Council, and is an Advanced Certified Interconnect Designer (CID+). Mr. Nace is fourth-generation Engineer.
